Written in just 24 days in 1741, this sacred oratorio has become one of the most beloved traditions of the concert stage, especially during the Christmas season. From the opening words of “Comfort Ye, My People” to the triumphant strains of the “Hallelujah” Chorus, Handel’s masterpiece traces the story of Christ with music that is at once deeply moving and universally recognizable.

Advent is a season of waiting and patient anticipation. This year for our devotion, Christ, the King of Heav’n Is Born, each day will feature a biblical text and a hymn or song that accompanies the devotional reading.
