Costa Rica Missions Trip, Update 4: A Lasting Impression

By Costa Rica Missions Team

“On Friday, we had the opportunity to visit the Hogar de Ancianos Hortencia Rodríguez de Bolaños for a second time. After finishing our work cleaning the front of the building, I was able to spend time talking with several of the residents. One conversation in particular left a lasting impact on me. I spent over an hour talking with a man named Edidas. He was so excited to see us again and proudly shared that a cross necklace another student had given him had become a source of hope and a constant reminder that the Lord is always with him. During our conversation, we were able to share the entire EE presentation with him, and he reaffirmed his faith in Jesus Christ. As I translated and talked with him, I was able to truly get to know him beyond our brief interactions from earlier in the week. It was an incredible experience not only for me and the girls I was translating for, but also for Edidas. Seeing the joy on his face and witnessing the hope he found in Christ reminded me that even the smallest acts of kindness can have an eternal impact.”
